So many foreign worlds
so relatively fucked

As of late, I post mainly Gossip Girl, but also other things that curb my interests.
I ship Chair like it's no one's business.

What are your top Harry Potter movies and why?
ASKED BY Anonymous

Oh my goodness. Bear yourself for an earful, here we go:

8) Chamber of Secrets - I can’t possibly explain to you why I didn’t like this movie. I consider myself a 100% devoted Harry fan, and yet Chamber of Secrets was the very first movie to make me fall asleep. It’s importance was beyond reviewed - the destroying of the horcrux, Tom’s diary, for one. But, I don’t know, the movie just didn’t appeal to me. In truth, I saw it as quite boring.

7) Goblet of Fire - Maybe it was the fact that Harry’s hair was so dreadfully puffy that I ended up disliking this fourth installment. Although this movie as well was of great importance - Voldemort returning to life - I still hated it. There were just so many plot lines and too many things going on. I disliked the book as well. I mean, one second we must concentrate on Harry not dying in the TriWizard Tournament and the next, we must panic about the return of Voldy. It was just too much to take in.

6) Order of the Pheonix - Although a rather action filled, exciting movie. It’s not my favorite, for some reason. Possibly it was the fact that I absolutely hate Umbridge and her uncanny, disgusting obsession with the color pink and kitty cats.

5) Deathly Hallows Part 1 - This would have been number three on my list had it not been for the fact that the movie was extrememly boring. Where they cut the movie is my biggest complaint. Two hours and where do we find ourselves with the Golden Trio? With a sword and one horcrux. I don’t know, I just feel that more action would’ve appealed more to the crowd. Though the struggle that exerted on the Trio whilst following this task was crucial, I just feel that it was a little overdone. I also would have liked to see the whole Dumbledore story seen through.

4) Half-Blood Prince - I love this movie to bits and peices. Why? Draco Malfoy/Tom Felton, of course. That man is not only a fantastic actor, but he is just so daringly handsome that it’s hard not to love him. This movie is crazy good. I find myself attracted to the dark side and this is definitely the mood that this movie projected; dark and just tainted.

3) Sorceror’s Stone - I had a hard time putting this movie in third, but in truth - while there were some elemtents of the movie that weren’t great - this is what started the fandom. This is our future Harry Potter, defender of the Wizarding the World, the boy-who-lived. It was the beginning of such a life-long struggle to provide peace to every wizard. This movie started it all; it deserves the recognition.

2) Prisoner of Azkaban - This movie, of course, introduced my favorite character: Sirius Black. That’s not the only thing that appealed to me, though. It was the introduction to the soul-sucking creatures, Dementors. There was just so much magic in this movie - the timeturner, Professor Lupin - that it’s just hard not to enjoy it. It is and forever will be, one of my favorites.

1) Deathly Hallows Part 2 - As expected, the last movie is my favorite. All the action, the nail-biting, every aspect of this movie was absolutely heart-racing. The deaths, the tears, the battle-cries. It all lead up to the inevitable job that Harry Potter had to see through - the death of Voldemort, once and for all. I do have a couple complaints, though. Complaint number one would be the fact that it was so fast-paced; there was hardly a moment to sit back and process everything that was happening. Two, was the fact that they left so many things out of the movie. Yes, while I just stated that there were so many things going on it was hard to keep up with everything - I would have still liked to see the whole ‘Neville could have been the chosen one’ thing play out. Same goes for Teddy. I mean, come on; the audience didn’t find out about him till the very end! Ah, now that I think about it; I do have one more problem: whatever happened to the head nod that was supposed to be exchanged between Harry and Draco in the epilogue? As a lover of Mr. Malfoy, I felt that this gesture would have done wonders on defining the equality between everyone in the Wizarding World after the war. But, alas, they left it out. Other than that, this is the only movie that will continuously make me cry every single time I watch it. Damn Snape and his never-ending love for Lily.

Thanks for the question. :)
